RE: STATIC DISPLAY

AS PER OUR PHONE CONVERSATION, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT AMVETS DEPARTMENT OF
MAINE WILL TAKE THE RESPONSIBALITY FOR THE AIRCRAFT DISPLAY IN VETERANS
MEMORIAL PARK AS APPROVED BY THE CITY OF LEWISTON, MAINE. AMVETS, POST 6, IS
ALSO A MEMBER IN THE L/A VETERANS COUNCIL. AS WE DISCUSSED WE ALREADY HAVE
ITEMS ON DISPLAY FROM THE NAVY DEPT.

YOURS IN SERICE

JERRY DEWITT

Jerry,

This A-7 in Helena, MT is now available to loan (see attached photo and AC
history). Do you have an interest in it?

It has been 6 months since you and I spoke and you were going to send our
packet to the JAG lawyers for approval.

It has been 2 years since we started this project with your predecessor who
retired already.

As the sate commander for AmVets, we would like to know how many more years
we have to wait to receive the aircraft and complete the display in our
veterans memorial park.

Respectfully yours’

JERRY DEWITT

Jerry,

The crux of your question is how long will it be until an F-86 is available
for loan to AMVETS Department of Maine to be placed in the Lewiston Veterans
Memorial Park. Unfortunately the availability of an F-86 is unknown at this
time. When the next F-86 is declared excess I will work through the list of
approved requestors of which AMVETS is 11th out of 16 requestors.

As well, you have expressed interest in an F-100, F-15, and an A-10. There
are no current excesses of these aircraft in the Community Static Display
Program. When one of these aircraft do become available, AMVETS is 5th in
line for an A-10 and 12th in line for both an F-100 and F-15. Note: a fair
number of requestors are repeated on these lists, so AMVETS Department of
Maine might be able to move up the list faster, as other requests are met.

Sincerely,

Melissa

MELISSA,
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
CAN YOU RECOMMEND ANY AIRCRAFT THAT YOU DO HAVE AVAILABLE IN THE SYSTEM
THAT WOULD FIT INTO OUR VETERANS PARK? WING SPAN AND LENGTH WOULD BE OF
UTMOST CONSIDERSATION. SOMETHING SMALLER THAN 50 FEET LENGTH AND WIDTH WOULD
FIT. ??

we are definitely interested. I spoke to my exec board today and they are a good to go. I will contact you next Monday with questions and concerns.
How much does it weight? What is the wing span and length of the aircraft, height?. Do the wings fold up? I am assuming it is not flyable!
Are there pods in the system for under the wings to dress it up?
Fyi all concerned see attached
Now the work begins!!!

Thank you so much
I will get back to you next Monday.
