AMVETS LONG RANGE PLAN-Final-1

TO:  All National Officers

All NECmen

All Department Commanders

All Department Executive Directors

CC:  All LRP Committee Members

Larry E. Via, National Commander

FR:  Fred Shinbur, LRP Committee Chr.

SUB: AMVETS LRP (Strategic Plan)

This email is to update you on the AMVETS Long Range Plan, which most of you have been aware of and participated in its development, since August 2013 at the 69th National Convention.

At the Fall NEC, I attempted to bring it before the NEC for a vote but that action failed. There was a subsequent motion to continue the Long-Range Planning Committee and to readdress it. (The Plan)

On Wednesday, 11 February 2015, the LRP Committee met via teleconference. In preparation for that meeting, the committee members had reviewed the attachments that are provided along with this email.

  • Time line for the development of the LRP
  • Addendum to Time line
  • The Plan

Ten of the eleven voting members were in attendance and unanimously voted to take the LRP, also attached, before the upcoming Spring NEC and call for a vote. National Commander Via will include this as part of the Business Meeting.

Please read the attachments and come prepared to move AMVETS forward.

Thank you
