    1. New home needed for a 11 year old Blue Tick Hound

    A 11 year old Blue Tick Hound Scout needs a new home. The current owner is
    terminally ill. The new home should not have children. It is a Katrina
    survivor who needs a calm home.

    2. Retiree Social Day – 22 Sep – Augusta RVSP requested

    3. Miscellaneous events

    -The 4th Annual SGT Blair Emery Scholarship ride is set to take place
    September 15th starting in Lee, ME. Registration is at 11AM. All vehicles
    are welcome! There will be a hotdog feed at The Pine Tree Store after the
    ride. The Emery family would like to thank the Wabanaki Warriors for
    continuing to sponsor this ride! Visit to learn more.

    -2nd Annual Maine Fallen Heroes Bike Run is this Saturday, September 15th!
    Ride is from Maine Veteran Homes in Augusta to L/A Harley. Donation only
    event and the proceeds go directly to the Gold Star Kids Trust Fund!

    -Veteran Book Groups with be offered in Rumford (Open to all/October
    3rd-November 14th), Lewiston/Auburn (Open to all/October 11th-November
    15th), and Portland (Open to Combat Veterans/ October 2nd-December 18th)!

    -Are you a Veteran in your first year at a 2 or 4 year college? Camp
    Resilience is offering workshops covering such topics as understanding how
    issues from military service can affect your studies, making the transition
    to college life, communication skills and developing good study habits,
    adjustment to college post deployment, and more! In addition, the retreat
    will also include kayaking, hiking, and more outdoor activities. October
    5th-7th at The Gunstock Inn in Gilford, NG. For more information about Camp

    4. Northeast Passage VA Adaptive Sports Grant

    Join Northeast Passage for our fall 2018 events.

    * All events are provided at no-cost thanks to a grant from the US
    Department of Veterans Affairs.
    * Recreational drugs, alcohol, firearms and weapons larger than a 3
    inch folding pocket knife are prohibited at all Northeast Passage events. If
    you have questions or concerns about this, please contact us.
    * Pre-Registration is required for all events.
    * We kindly ask that you check your schedule for potential personal
    conflicts before signing up for events. This will help relieve our waitlists
    and cut down on the number of cancellations we are managing.
    * We frequently have a waitlist for events. Please honor our 24-hour
    advanced cancellation policy so that we can fill all available spots.

    We will be hosting five Indoor Archery sessions this fall in Hooksett, NH.
    All skill levels are welcome! Instruction and equipment will be provided by
    NEP and range coaches who are all USA Archery Certified Instructors. If you
    have your own equipment you may bring it as long as it meets the range
    regulations–please contact us if you have questions!

    Join us for an autumn paddle, exploring the colors along the shoreline of
    Pawtuckaway Lake in Nottingham, NH! Instruction and equipment (kayak, PFD,
    and paddle) provided. All paddling events are guided by ACA Certified
    Paddling Instructors. Personal Flotation Device (PFD) required.

    Join us for an arts program featuring classes on Painting and Wood Carving.
    All sessions will take place at the Northeast Passage offices in Durham, NH.

    Painting: October 30, 2:00-4:00PM
    Wood Carving – November 6 & November 13, 5:00-7:00PM **Wood Carving sessions
    are 2 dates to give you more time to finish your project.

    Come join Northeast Passage for candlepin bowling this Fall! This great
    cold weather activity is open to all, from novices to experienced bowlers.
    We hope to introduce some friendly competition and will have more bowling
    opportunities in the new year.
