Embrace a Vet

Website: http://embraceavet.org

I am writing as a representative of a Private Non-Profit organization, called Embrace A Vet (embraceavet.org). This five year old organization has a two fold mission. The first is to hold wellness retreats for Maine veterans diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress and/or Traumatic Brain Injury. We offer non traditional treatment modalities in a retreat type setting lasting five days. We are currently collaborating with Camp Kieve in Nobelboro, Maine with the next retreat scheduled for February 9-13, 2017. The second mission is to assist veterans who have a need to have a service dog. We collaborate with Coastal Humane Society to match dogs with veterans and provide a 12 week training program to facilitate having the dog become a certified service dog. Both programs are free to veterans and the retreats are limited to ten veterans and their significant other. A recent change allows single veterans to attend the retreat without having having someone accompany him/her.

We would appreciate it if you would be so kind to post a notice of our next retreat in your newsletter or events calendar and I would encourage you to look at our website to obtain more information about the organization.

I would also like to send a flyer about the retreat if you would like to have one to disseminate to the various posts and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
